Police have launched a manhunt after nine armed men robbed the Super Spar grocery story in Harare Square, in Khayelitsha on Saturday.

According to police the man raided the store and held the staff and customers at gun point. “The robbery took place on Saturday 2017-06-10 at approximately 16:00 when nine heavily armed suspects stormed into the shop.

They ordered the shoppers to lie on the floor while they held staff members at gunpoint demanding cash. Two of the nine suspects had assault rifles while seven had pistols. Several shots were fired but luckily no injuries sustained,” said Captain Siyabulela Vukubi.
