The Lwandle police detectives say they are in pursuit of suspects who robbed a PEP store in Broadway Square on Monday afternoon 5 August.

The robbers wielding firearms stormed at the store around 13:16 and threatened to shoot staff while demanding money.

Sergeant Mthokozisi Gama said the four heavily armed suspects allegedly went inside the PEP store, pointed cashiers with firearms and demanded money from the safe.

“They further threatened to shoot them if they do not open the safe. They then stole an undisclosed amount of money and cellphones before they flew the scene,” he said.

Gama said a case of business robbery was opened and is being investigated by Lwandle police detectives.

Lwandle police detectives urge anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of these suspects to kindly contact the investigating officer, Detective Captain Stella Madzidzela on 082 469 7719 or 021 845 2060.

Alternatively they can dial Crime Stop on 08600 1011.

Information received will be treated with the strictest confidentiality. Police offer a reward to anyone who might come up with positive information.
