The Khayelitsha Schools Football Association in partnership with The Sunflower Fund is about to kick off their second annual U/19 Soccer Tournament.

The air is always electrifying around the event as all youth involved in the tournament play with vigour and displaying impeccable talent, making the day memorable and successful.

The opening games will be held at Mandela Park Stadium on Februay 28 to be followed by the knockout stages on March 2 at the same venue.

Finals are scheduled to take place at theSite C Stadium on March 4.

This year 16 schools are participating, with Zola High School from the Bongweni area entering the tournament as the defending champions.

The Sunflower Fund commends the youth of Khayelitsha, who are doing an excellent job in creating awareness about leukaemia and other blood related disorders through the medium of soccer.

The Sunflower Fund educates and registers stem cell donors, to grow a healthy, effective and ethnically diverse South African Bone Marrow Registry of committed donors, with funds raised being used to cover the testing costs.
