The nationwide search for Miss Mamelodi Sundowns 2016 has begun.

It boasts the biggest prize package in South Africa with over R2 million in prizes to be won.

Last Saturday , the Miss Mamelodi Sundowns team was in Cape Town, – the seventh stop on their nine province road trip.

In each province, the team will judge the semi-finalists and select two contestants per province, who will each win R60 000 and go on to compete in the national final which takes place in December.

These 18 provincial semi-finalists will have an equal opportunity to win the coveted Miss Mamelodi Sundowns 2016 title, which also comes with prize money of R200 000 and a brand-new car.

Sikhonathi Tosini is 23 years old and is currently in her third year at CPUT, where she is studying Public Relations.

Tshidi Green, 21, is originally from Paarl but now lives in Somerset West.

She is studying a BA International Studies degree at the University of Stellenbosch.

“The Western Cape produced some very strong contestants, which made it even harder to pick two semi-finalists.

But we are very excited about Sikhonathi and Tshidi, two determined and motivated young women who are both passionate about bringing change to their communities.

This pageant gives them the opportunity to make a real difference, while at the same time helping them to achieve their own goals,” says Govender.
