Single ladies, get a life and get closer to God

2018-01-11 06:00

We recently bade farewell to 2017.

For some, 2017 was total bliss, filled with opportunities for success, while for others it was a year full of tough challenges that led to misery and gloom.

Also, some people felt that last year was just as dreadful because no one popped the “big question”, and are worried about their biological ticking clock.

Spending another lonely year alone is the most horrifying ordeal in the world, according to them. I beg to differ.

I would like to share this with you, my fellow sisters, in the words of the famous pastor Ntate T.D Jakes, when he spoke in The Potter’s House in Dallas.

He had said in one core advise that single people should “deepen our relationship with God and establish that intimate relationship with Him, where we lean on the Lord in prayer.”

He also mentioned that as single people, we must “seek a whole life”, meaning that as a single, you should learn to spend time alone and enjoy your own company, more like taking yourself out, going out more and developing a new hobby, such as playing tennis, joining a book club and so on.

Ladies just do interesting stuff that give you a sense of completeness because, according to T.D Jakes, most single people don’t enjoy life, and are instead waiting for a “prince charming” who will sweep them off their feet before they can explore the world and all the fun it entails.

In other words, ladies should develop interest beyond school, work and church.

T.D Jakes said this will make life a little more interesting than just wasting time waiting for a moment that may never come. Come on ladies, other interests make you more interesting.

Therefore, I urge ladies in 2018 to live boldly, pushing themselves to go after their dreams and to never settle for a dull life or simply waiting for someone to make you happy as well as to seek God first, because His timing is always perfect and He is the sustainer of everlasting joy.
