The nationwide search for Miss Mamelodi Sundowns 2016 has begun.

It boasts the biggest prize package in South Africa with over R2 million in prizes to be won. The pageant is now open to all South African women between the ages of 18-25, but entries must be received by the 5th of October 2016.

On the 5th of November, the Miss Mamelodi Sundowns team will be in Cape Town, Western Cape–the seventh stop on their nine province road trip.

In each province, the team will judge the semi-finalists and select two contestants per province, who will each win R60 000 and go on to compete in the national final which takes place in December.

These 18 provincial semi-finalists will have an equal opportunity to win the coveted Miss Mamelodi Sundowns 2016 title, which also comes with prize money of R200 000 and a brand-new car. The 1st Princess will receive R175 000, with R150 000 going to the 2nd Princess.

Contestants must enter on the Miss Mamelodi Sundowns website – – where they will upload their video and photographs, and complete the online entry form.

Selected semi-finalists will meet the Miss Mamelodi Sundowns team on their provincial road trip. “Our search has begun,” says Sizwe Nzimande, General Manager of Mamelodi Sundowns. “We encourage all young women to enter. It is an opportunity to change your life, and your community.”
