Society has lost connection

2018-03-01 06:00

We used to say it takes a village to raise a child, but I don’t see that happening anymore.

We used to look after our kids, neighbours’ kids, and even local village kids, no matter how big the area was.

Today, we only worry about our families and no one else. How many of us will do something when we see someone’s car or house being broken into?

We often say it’s not my place to report it. But whose place is it? This is the kind of society we have become – an ignorant one.

What ever happened to uBuntu? What ever happened to loving thy neighbour? What have we become as a society?

Even animals are not as ignorant as we are. If we really care, why do we sell alcohol and cigarettes to underage kids?

We should strive to become a caring society.
