Swift drugs bust

A suspect has been arrested for selling drugs and being in possession of stolen goods.

Harare police station spokesperson Capt Siyabulela Vukubi said in their endeavours to address drug-related crimes in the Harare precinct the crime prevention unit (CPU) confiscated a substantial amount of drugs.

He said on Friday 8 November they received information about drugs sold in Makhaza and upon arrival, they confiscated 29 tik straws, 10 packets of tik, 14 quarter mandrax tablets, three half mandrax tablets and five full mandrax tablets.

Vukubi said upon further search 21 cellphones, a scale and electricity vending machines were discovered with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He said a 32-year-old man was arrested for dealing in drugs and possession of suspected stolen property and is expected to appear at the Khayelitsha magistrate’s court.
