Young minds must kept busy all the time to avoid getting their hands dirty in the greasly grime of crime.

This was the message of New Home for Crying People Ministries founder, Reverend MW Sesmani after the completion of a youth awareness programme he organised recently.

Held at Andile Msizi community hall, the programme saw speakers from the police, education and other organisation share valuable survival tips with the children.

“We wanted to keep them busy and focussed during the festive season, we actually achieved our goal because all the speakers were on point,” he said. Miss Nqekeza from the education department stressed the importance of “learning to improve” one’s life. “Education opens all doors and youngsters of today have many opportunities given by the government and the private sector,”she said. Miss Mcayi tackled domestic violence and drug related problems. She urge children to stay “clean”. Zoliswa Yaphi from the community police forum urged them to “protect their areas” by working together with the police. “Together we can clean our township of crime and live peacefully,” she said. Reverend Sesman thanked everyone whot attend the week long get-together. After motivational talks children were unleashed onto the fiels where they played various of sport, much to their delight.
