A local netball team faced off against England opposition in Langa on Saturday 19 October.

Latymer Upper School from London, which is on tour in the country, played friendly games against Red Tigers Netball team’s different age divisions from Langa.

The teams’ u.14 sides played to a 15 all draw, while the home side’s u.16 team won by 20 goals to 18.

Tigers belong to the Western Province Netball League which concluded earlier this month. Three of their teams, u.13, u.15 and u.17, were champions in their respective divisions.

Tigers coach Lubabalo Mbizo said the league might have ended but the friendly games are helping the team to sharpen up their skills. He labelled the games against the English school as a tough test for his players saying they are not used to playing opponents from overseas.
