To Winnie Mandela: The ultimate Hero

2018-04-12 06:02

The day of your birth was a wonderful gift to our beautiful nation.

Your struggle to restore our dignity and our nation to it’s former glory started the day you were born Mama.

The purpose that God entrusted in your hands was bigger than you, but not bigger than your heart.

Nothing beats the heart of a warrior, backed with a strong human spirit.

Mama Winnie Madikizela- Mandela you have been a perfect example of resilience with a purpose.

A beacon of hope to a hopeless nation. You have taught us to never let the temporal pain and shame to make us let go of an everlasting mission and vision.

A mission you carried, driven by the vision you hoped for.

Deep in your heart you knew that quitting was not an option, though the flesh fails us all, nothing can match the power of the human spirit.

You kept the nation united and hopeful, even in your hardest moments. No ordinary woman could have done what you did, unless bestowed with a purpose.

I see you as a tree that sheltered the nation while it endured the scorching heat of the sun, the storms, and the cruel human hands that oppose the beauty and the gift of nature.

You have stood against goliath with commitment and devotion in making our nation a better place for all who lives in it.

I see you as an ocean, though we don’t see its depth and what it carries below, it always gives it’s best to those who admire it.

You carried a lot, but your strength and smile have always been amazing.

The mother of a nation indeed. You have demonstrated the strength of a determined mother beyond limits.

You have shown us that a strong woman is not only behind a successful man.

But a strong woman can also be a devoted leader when duty calls. You have led with extra ordinary footsteps for the future generation to follow.

I now know the situation of girls, sisters, ladies, women and mothers will definitely change in our nation because of your perfect example of persistence and hope.

I was inspired by many things you did and said, but one of my highlights is when you said: “Thanks to my jailers, you have made me strong, am no longer a little girl and I am no longer afraid of you”.

I related to what you said on a personal level.

Sometimes what was meant to destruct and destroy us only makes us stronger and better citizens.

Indeed leadership is not a career, its a calling that comes with great responsibilities. Indeed, you have been a perfect symbol of selfless and courageous leadership.

Now you are no more, everyone says his or her mind about you. But we all know the truth, no warrior will sit and fold his arms while being attacked.

Some criticize you for defending your dignity.

“They fail to criticise those who pushed you too far, but you are criticized for pushing back.”

But most of us salute and appreciate you. Because we know the best defence is to attack.
