Top physiques take the stage as divas show muscle

2016-07-28 06:00

South Africa’s top women physiques will grace the stage and compete for top honours and possible inclusion to compete overseas in the only all-women Diva Extravaganza in Cape Town hosted by BFFSA (Bodybuilding and Fitness South Africa) on Saturday 6 August.

A strong team will be chosen to compete in the PCA (Physical Culture Association) Union Cup on 5 November in Wales.

Here you will get to see athletes compete in junior bikini, pole fitness division, bikini and evening wear, not to mention this year’s theme round, Rockstar Diva at the Durbanville High School Auditorium.

Athletes from across the country will compete for the Top Diva title walking away with a total prize money of R10 000.

Athletes will also compete for R5000 in their respective divisions.

Pro Nutrition and Schwarzkopf will provide hampers for athletes that place first to third in their respective divisions along with a unique trophy for the winners.

The day starts with registration from 08:00 to 10:00. The registration fee is R150 and R250 per division entry.

Pre-judging starts at 11:00 with the main show getting underway at 18:00.

“This is the third year we are hosting the show and last year saw a massive increase in entries and spectators,” says promotor Kevin Schwartz.

“The feedback and comments on social media indicate we will go more elegant and stylish than ever, making this a show not to be missed,” he says.

“Being a competitive athlete is very expensive, and with the prize money a lot of athletes will compete. The athletes compete for the fun and some competitively and also for the love of the sport, not the money, but it most certainly helps lighten the burden of expenses,” says Schwartz.

A unique walkway into the crowd with an array of laser lights and great light display along with a white backdrop and fairy lights make this show unique.

Spectators can be part of the action by purchasing their prejudging tickets at the door for R100 per person.

Main show tickets will be available at Computicket and at the door.

Ticket prices for the evening range from R150 to R200.
