Happy Hearts Academy FC coach Andisani Makapela lambasted his defence for making silly mistakes during their match against Vultures. Happy Hearts lost 7-2 in the Langa-Ndabeni Football Association Second Division League game at Langa Stadium on Sunday.

The Academy took an early lead but the Vultures equalised. They went up 2-1 before half time. In the second half they added five more goals to Academy’s single goal.

“My first choice goalkeeper was not there and I had to replace him with the young goalkeeper. And also my defence was a bit shaky. There was no communication at all at the back,” said Makapela. However, he praised his boys for scoring two goals as a sign of improvement.

“We take the game as a learning curve because we have a young squad that we still need to groom. By scoring two goals they are showing that they can attack,” he said.

Vultures FC coach Siphelo Piyose said he was impressed by the performance of his boys.

“They managed to keep the ball and the striking force for the day was superb. We need to maintain our game and ensure that we don’t drop points,” he said.

However, he said the club has a lack of sport facilities.

“We don’t have training grounds and most of the teams are practicing on open spaces. We don’t have enough balls and kit,” said Piyose.

Vultures is on position 6 on the log while Happy Hearts Academy is on position 13. Both have played 30 games.
