Greetings to all.

I regard myself as a business ambassador, a business-owner, born and raised in the township.

I have had my fair share of experience and challenges and I have survived them.

I hope to engage with you, the readers and share information, so as to learn from each other.

I am passionate about enterprise development.

I help small business-owners from all over to develop and grow their businesses from scratch, I consult, coach, mentor, train and facilitate.

I would like to talk to you about starting a business with little capital and little experience.

I am talking to that black child sitting at home unemployed or with a criminal record or limited education.

Why is it every time my people wish to start a business, they think of only the carwash or a vet-koek bakery.

Carwash businesses are popping up on almost every street corner, sometimes, there are three to four carwash businesses in one street.

The most important thing when starting a business is to think of the big “WHY”. Ask yourself why you are starting or thinking of starting this business in the first place.

Ask questions like: is there a need for this (product/service) in my neighbourhood.

Why offer a service that hundreds of other businesses are already offering.

Ask what you are going to do differently in your business. Let’s stop starting the “me too” business side of things. Let’s start to think outside the box.

The box is your mind, it is the shack that you were born and raised in.

Lastly, think about a problem that we are facing in the township and come up with a solution to solve it and make money from it; its called business.

We need to think differently before we invest in a business, to avoid the flops that others have had to deal with.

If you have read this, we have made a start together, now lets engage more and see what we can come up with.
