As part of Robben Island Museum’s (RIM) Heritage Day celebrations, the museum is celebrating 21 years, and 10 City Vision readers can win double tickets to visit the iconic site on Monday.

The museum implements a wide range of conservation, educational, tourist development, research, archiving and general heritage programmes that are designed to conserve the Island’s natural and cultural resources and heritage.

The RIM is also responsible for managing and maintaining some key island assets including the Maximum and Medium Security Prison Complexes, Robert Sobukwe’s House, the Curio and Village Shops, the Village Precinct and associated recreational facilities, the Helipad and runway on the Island, World War 2 memorials, power generation and water processing plants, Jetty 1 and the Nelson Mandela Gateway at the V & A Waterfront and the Mayibuye Archives.

To win yourself tickets to visit the island, answer the following simple question and email your answer to win@cityvision.co.za’, or call: 0219106517, with your answer.

How long has Robben Island Museum been operating as a museum?

Winners will need to be at the Nelson Mandela Gateway, at the V & A Waterfront at least 45minutes before departure with a copy of their identity documents.
