Gospel sensation Jabu Hlongwane has promised Joyous Celebration fans nothing less than what they are known for.

The legendary musician will be part of the Joyous Celebration 22 tour “All for You”, which will make a pitstop in Cape Town on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 June. The concerts will be held at Good Hope Christian Centre in Ottery.

Hlongwane has promised to bring new musicians and new songs, all accompanied by their “heartbeat of excellence”.

“Our obsession is excellence,” he told City Vision, “and on this tour we will not bring anything less than what we are known for. The presentation this time around will be more South African, and displays where we as a group are now. This is a comeback home.”

Hlongwane says fans can expect songs like “Umoya Kulendawo” and “Uliphathe kakuhle lelivangeli”, which are traditional church songs. “To date, the response to our CD and live DVD has been amazing,” he explained.

“We always release our CD and DVD just before the Easter weekend, so people can get used to our songs and be able to sing along when we perform.”

The ensemble’s 22nd instalment was launched at Carnival City over the Easter weekend, captivating thousands of fans over a three-day sold out run. And fans of the group in the Cape can expect a world class performance with mesmerising sounds, mind-blowing production and the distinct “Joyous flavour” that’s made them a household name.

“Our fans, supporters and the Western Cape communities are in for a joyous treat,” says Lindelani Mkhize, founder of Joyous Celebration.

“This year’s theme is appropriate as it talks to our appreciation of the music lovers who have shown us support and love over the past 22 years.

Joyous Celebration has released 22 albums by “God’s grace and through the support of South Africans.”

To celebrate the “All For You” tour, the group is giving away Joyous Celebration uniforms to local choirs, fulfilling 22 wishes to their fans.

One lucky winner will take home a hamper of Joyous Celebration CDs from Joyous 1-21.
