Word Warrior Competition

2018-07-19 06:00

The Read Educational Trust competition aims to promote literacy, reading and the art of creative writing among the youth of South Africa.

Learners aged between nine to 16 may enter the competition. The entry requirement for the 2018 Read Word Warrior competition is for entrants to write a fictional story.

Incorporating a colourful character called Detective W.W Inkomba, the word warriors are required to produce a fun, fact-finding mission that draws readers in and captivates them to the very last word.

The winner’s work will be showcased on the Read website. They will receive a R1000 cash prize and their school will receive R5000 worth of books. For more information contact Read Educational Trust on 087 237 7781, or visit www.read.org.za.
