An inspiring hip hop artist who is also a music producer from Worcester is aiming for the stars.

Sakhile “SK” Baleni, is planning a series of launches of his debut album which will be in a form of mixtape, to be launched on April 30.

It will be titled “One day I will make Cents.”

The album comes after he first released a single titled “Strong”, in September and he then released his second single titled “We Run This” about two weeks ago.

It will be released under Fricatainment.

“SK” , as he is better known, developed a love of music at the age of seven after noticing the talent of his late father who was a choir conductor.

His life changed for the worst after his parents died in a tragic accident when he was 12 years old.

He then lived with his elder brother, Siyanda who was a member of a Hip Hop group called “Illest” which was very popular in Worcester.

SK says that he is set to cause a storm in the musical industry with his unusual sound.

“My music sounds like nothing anyone has ever heard. It is unique and fresh. I am bringing Worcester style out there.

I want to put my Kasi (Zwelethemba) on the map,” he said.

He said he is planning to relocate to Johannesburg next year and also to embark on a Kasi to Kasi music tour in future.

He was grateful to his manager, Lerato Theoha, who introduced him to Gabi Le Roux, who is an internationally recognised producer.

Le Roux produced for artist such as the Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Mandoza, Danny K, and the late Branda Fassie, Busie Mhlongo and Lebo Mathosa respectively. Le Roux is a highly respected producer in the music industry. SK said Le Roux easily spotted his talent and he then decided to offer him a bursary to one of his master classes.

He later offered him a recording deal.

The deal has since borne fruits as the hits “Masihlanganeni” and “Lights” which featured Jonathan Simons, has won many hearts in the province.

SK has since toured nine cities in the country with Engen Petroleum Company where he performed for thousands of audiences.
