THE Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban was a place of spiritual activity over the weekend of August 31 to September 2.

Jehovah’s Witnesses from all parts of KwaZulu-Natal congregated at the Stadium for the spiritual banquet.

The convention programme was delivered in English, isi-Zulu and South African sign language simultaneously.

Friday focussed on the theme “Be courageous and very strong”. “Why Christians need courage”, was developed by a three part symposium which covered three aspects that Christians must focus on.

The first was, to preach, the second is to remain holy and the third to maintain neutrality.

The Friday morning session concluded with a talk entitled, “No weapon used against you will have any success”.

The afternoon programme started at 1.25 pm and further developed the theme by a series of videos and experiences. Friday’s attendance was 16 869.

Saturday focussed on having courage to speak about the Bibles message fearlessly.

An eight part symposium was presented by talks and videos, on how to be courageous as a Bible student, youth, publisher, marriage mate, parent, pioneer, congregation elder and as an older person.

The morning session was concluded by the baptism talk and the baptism of 398 new delegates.

Saturday afternoon featured a dramatic presentation of a series of videos that taught how to learn courage from creation.

Featured were lions, horses, mongooses, hummingbirds and elephants.

In addition a further symposium showed how Jehovah’s witnesses showed courage in different lands, Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania and South America. Saturdays attendance was 24 851.

Sunday’s attendance was 27 073. Total attendance for the three days was 68 793.
