TONGAAT Secondary School hosted their annual prom at the Tongaat Town Hall themed ‘Frozen Forever’ recently.

The glamorous event was a resounding success with participants raising an amount of R100 000 toward school fund coffers.

Special guest at the event was Tongaat Secondary former student and a present director of Specsavers Neeran Naidoo who shared some wise thoughts with the pupils.

He informed parents and pupils that a pupil from his matric class of 1995 Devina Coopen was invited to the White House for her outstanding work and research on HIV and Aids.

He urged pupils to excel at school which opens the door on a whole range of opportunities that await them.

Principal Rajen Singh thanked the parents and pupils for their efforts in the fund raising efforts and he also acknowledged the sacrifice of Naidoo to share his time and wise words with the school’s pupils and parents.

The winners for the night were Kayla Naidoo (queen), Owen Govender (king), Preshanti Gounden (first princess), Darius Nayin (first prince) and Chanel Pillay (second princess)
