THE Shree Krsna Bhaktivedanta Gurukula and Samaj (SKBG) hosted a Hindu Quiz 2015 recently at Chinna Thirupathi Venkateswara Devasthanam (CTVD) Belvedere.

The event is held annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sri Haridasacharya (Bro Haridas) whose life’s aim and objective was to spread the great spiritual knowledge of Hindu Dharma (universal values) to youth and the community.

Twenty five teams participated in this programme and were categorised into senior youth (15 to 21 years) and junior youth (9 to 14 years).

The competition was strong indicating great effort from the participants.

The winning team for the senior category was Ashram Prashanti Niketan, followed in second place by Shree Krsna Bhaktivedanta Gurukula (SKBG) - Belvedere and Buffelsdale Secondary was placed third.

For the junior category, Prashanti Niketan was the winning team, followed by Shree Bhagavata Vedanta Gurukulam (SBVG) and Shree Krsna Bhaktivedanta Gurukula (SKBG) - Belvedere was placed third.

Children within the age group of five to eight years old were afforded an opportunity to participate in a coloring competition. Hareshan Reddy from Belvedere Sai Centre was placed first.

Slide presentations and a message by Sri Vedanandacharya was presented on the legacy of Sri Haridasacharya. The dynamic and inspirational youth speaker was Akash Rampersad from Shree Bhagavata Vedanta Gurukulam (SBVG).

His message to the youth was on the importance of spirituality in the lives of youth
