Temple postpones Maha Kumbha Abishegam

2015-05-28 06:00

MEMBERS of the Shree Veeraboga Emperumal Temple regrets to inform the public that the prayers for Maha Kumbha Abhisegam scheduled for 4 to 7 June 2015 and the Mandalaa Abishegam scheduled for 8 June to 26 July has been postponed until further notice. Logistical problems in India beyond their control has delayed the arrival of the new murthies that were going to be installed. The shipment due to arrive was also carrying the flag poles and prayer items for the Kumbha Abhisegam. “We want to announce that this will not impact on the Mariammen prayers, the Annual Chariot Festival and the centenary celebrations which is scheduled for the second half of the year. The Bala Alayam (temporary shrine) is still in operation for all prayers and rituals,” said the temple in a statement. “We extend our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by this delay and assure you that everything possible is being done to expedite the process. “ The community will be notified of the latest developments as they unfold. The daily Mandala Abishegam sponsors will be informed to book their dates once the Maha Kumbha Abishegam date has been confirmed. Devotees and members of the public requiring further information can contact the temple on 032 9451496 or email us on info@svet.org.za
