VERULAM dentist Dr Nigel Govindasami welcomes Dr Deevanie Reddy as the newest member to the dental team.

Born and bred in Verulam, Dr Reddy aims to give back to the community by offering her services to the community of Verulam and surrounding areas.

As a recent graduate of the University of Pretoria,Dr Reddy is passionate about changing people’s lives by introducing the latest technology and methods in dental care.

After completing her matric at Mountview Secondary School, she went on to pursue a career in dentistry.

As a young girl whose passion has always been in dentistry, she looked up to some of the local dentists in the area and who motivated her to follow her dream.

Reddy said: “The great thing about being a young dentist, [is that] you’re up to date with the changes in the field, thus allowing us to introduce the latest technology and latest methods.

“We have to consistently stay updated which makes our treatments more efficient, which means we provide better options to our patients that are less painful compared to older methods. As much as I am a general dental practitioner, I have special interest in surgical dentistry as well as paediatric dental care, which is best suited for the family dental care that we offer at the Verulam Medical Centre.”

She encourages the youth who want to study dentistry to follow their dreams in order to be prosperous in life.

“I was passionate about becoming a dentist when I was 10 years old. It was not an easy journey, as is studying any medical profession and if you are not motivated to do that, to be able to say I want to wake up every day and do this then, you should not be doing it. Follow your heart and your passion.”
