ADVERTORIAL: What is Glaucoma?

2016-03-31 06:00

QUITE often, people confuse the term with glucose and assume that it is a diabetic-related condition.

The eye produces a fluid called aqueous humour. This ensures that a stable eye pressure is present in order to maintain the shape and rigidity of the eye ball.

When excessive amounts of fluids are produced OR when the normal amount of fluid is not drained out fast enough, the pressure within the eye increases.

This could result in eye pain, light sensitivity, headaches, but most commonly - it attacks SILENTLY.

If left undetected, irreversible sight loss is the eventual outcome.

This year, the optical team at Sameera Osman Optometrist will be giving back to the community by providing FREE glaucoma screenings and ophthalmologist referrals.

Set aside a mere FIVE MINUTES of your time in order to let us screen you for a potentially sight-threatening disease.
