THE Tongaat Anti Drug Forum hosted a presentation and prize giving ceremony at the Gandhi’s Hill Temple Hall recently.

All primary and secondary schools were invited to participate in various categories including presentation of speeches, poster competitions and drama for primary and secondary schools.

Jacky Chetty, retired principal who was the convenor of the judges, was full of praise at the standard of the competition.

He complimented pupils for the effort that they put in preparing their items.

The forum was also commended for the programme which highlighted the dangers of drug abuse and drug addiction. The manner by which all role players including pupils, parents, teachers and other social partners who are being brought under one programme at a single event was exemplary and noteworthy.

All schools are urged to include the forum’s programme in their annual year plan and calendar and have regular drug awareness programmes at their schools.
