A MATRIC pupil from Belverton Secondary School, Shimica Nowratham, was honoured at the school’s annual speech and awards function held recently.

Shimica was the best performing pupil at her school after she obtained seven distinctions in her examination.

She also received the dux award and obtained the highest marks in all seven of her subjects, which were geography, mathematics, life science, physical science, life orientation, English and Afrikaans. Shimica was the most outstanding pupil in the Tongaat ward. She also received an award for her achievement. She is now studying medicine at the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine at UKZN.
