THE PR councillor of the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Verulam, Chris Langa, urged the police to leave no stone unturned after unknown suspects broke into his office recently.

According to employees at the office, the incident happened at around 5 pm on November 10.

The secretary at the office, Bongiwe Dladla, said she received a call from other tenants in the building alerting her to the incident. “It happened in broad daylight. We were frightened because we don’t know who did this. This is the second incident. The first incident happened in 2013. We reported the incident to the landlord of the building,” Dladla said.

A laptop and other office equipment were taken. In 2013, unknown suspects gained entry to the councillor’s office and stole identity documents that were being kept at the office. Other items that were stolen included a photocopying machine, printer and kettle. Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane confirmed the incident and said that the matter is being investigated.
