Calypso FC sink Giants

2016-09-15 06:00

CALYPSO Sporting F.C. took on Buffelsdale giants FC in another indoor football league match last week.

Going into this match, Calypso Sporting was experiencing a good run and the team found their rhythm early in the game.

In their usual style of play, they took the attack to the opposition in search of early goals and the excellent play in the middle of the pitch together with the good pin point passing of the ball saw the team opening with a goal early in the match.

This excellent play continued in the first half and the goals started flooding in and at half time Calypso was 10-0 up.

The second half continued where the first half ended and the team did not release the grip on the match and with the rotation of players saw the team continuing to score regularly by all players.

The goalkeeper had a first class match and also kept a clean sheet. The defenders also played their part in not conceding a goal and also did not allow the opposition to come close to scoring.

All the upfront players had a brilliant match, scored some good goals and also made good passes and kept possession of the ball throughout the match.

The team was also assiste by the overlapping play of the defenders which kept the momentum of the match going throughout the game.

At the final whistle, Calypso Sporting won the match by 21-0 and this win now sees them sitting on top of the league log early in the season.

The management of the team and the coaches were once again happy with the performance of all the players and seeing that training and basics were applied in the match which was another all-round team performance by the players.

On Friday 16 September Calypso Sporting FC takes on Wild Kartz FC in the last match of the first round at 7.30pm and will want to continue with their good performance and cement their place on top of the league log.

Training outdoors will be as usual for the players on Tuesdays from 7pm to 8pm at the Shaik Mohideen Stadium and match practice will be on Sundays at the indoor stadium from 5pm to 6pm.
