Circuit assembly of Jehovah’s Witnesses

2017-02-16 06:01

LIKE in Bible times, Jehovah’s Witnesses are instructed to assemble three times a year, in larger groups. (Deuteronomy 16:16) These three events including the weekly local congregation meetings, take place around the world.

The three events are made up of two one-day circuit assemblies and a three-day regional convention.

Assemblies are for a group of local congregations within close proximity of each other called a circuit, these create opportunities for members and the public to meet and associate with fellow Witnesses from other congregations. Regional Conventions are for all congregations within that region.

Witnesses also appreciate the Bible instruction that they receive at the assembly. Each program is based on a Scriptural theme. The first of the 2017 One Day Assembly for Circuit 4B, for congregations from Newlands, Durban North, Phoenix East, Phoenix West, Phoenix Central, Foresthaven, Verulam, La Mercy and Umhlanga will be presented at the Stanmore Civic Hall on Grove End Drive in Phoenix on Sunday 19 February 2017.

It will commence at 9.40am and end at 3.55pm.

The morning program will end at 12.05pm, and afternoon will commence at 1.20pm.

The public are also invited to attend and admission is free with no collections taken.

The theme of the Assembly is,“ Maintain love for Jehovah.”(Matt 22.37). Here Jesus was replying to one of the Pharisees who asked him which was the greatest commandment in the law. He then went further to emphasise that next was for you to love your neighbour as yourself. Through interesting talks, symposiums, and re-enactments, the theme will be developed.

All in attendance will appreciate the answers to these Questions:

1.What is the greatest commandment, and why is it important.

2.How can we successfully avoid the love of the world?

3.How can we teach others to “love the name of Jehovah?

4.How can we show un-hypocritical brotherly love?

5.How can parents teach their children to love Jehovah?

6.How can you prove that Jehovah is your best Friend?

7.How can we successfully maintain or restore our love for Jehovah?

At every assembly and convention, a baptism is held for those who want to symbolize their dedication to Jehovah. Jehovah’s Witnesses are found in over 240 lands, totalling 8 340 982 in 119 485 congregations with 10 115 264 free home bible courses being conducted.
