“DON’T live with regrets because at one point in time it was exactly what you wanted.”

Have you ever had anyone say that extremely annoying line to you? Well, my response to that is, perhaps it may have been what I, at one point, would have wanted, but people change, times change, priorities change, thoughts and feelings change and circumstances change. This being said, it doesn’t serve you to hold on to things that “once was”, just for sentimental reasons, especially if what you “once wanted” does nothing but cause you immense pain in your life today. Keep life simple:

• Love and make time for those who love and appreciate you.

• Do not allow anyone to deplete you emotionally.

• Learn to detach from those who use you, abuse your love and kindness, hurt you or expect you to give them your time and effort as they see it as being your “duty”. Personally, when dealing with really unappreciative people, I consider my kindness and efforts as charity towards them and I move on in life.

You have to accept that not everyone in this world understands the concept of gratitude.

• Release them from your life with forgiveness, love and light by mentally and emotionally cutting the cord of attachment between you and them.

Holding on to what you “once wanted”, if it is to your detriment, means you’re unable to accept change and your life is stagnating with old, negative, stuck energies of the past. This fills you life with sadness and perhaps bitterness and possibly, resentment as well. Acceptance of this sad part of life, is the key to finding your inner peace.
Change is the only constant thing in this world, be it delightful or painful. Nobody can escape it.
Embracing change and learning from it, allows us to move forward without having to repeat the process of coming back to similar challenging situations repeatedly, so as to learn the lesson that we refused to learn and accept the first time it presented itself.
Disappointment comes when you invest too much hope in people or if you’re a person that has very high standards and expectations for those you associate with. On this Earth, we will face disappointments, hardships, accusations and injustice, regardless of the immense good deeds you do for your family, society or humanity in general.
Invest your hopes and dreams in God. Set high expectations for Him and He will never falter nor disappoint you. Allow God to heal and seal your open hurting wounds and to fill you with His all powerful strength.

Be tenacious! Get up and dust yourself off! Continue running your best race along this journey of life and you will overcome every hurdle. Your scars will remind you of your inner strength and your perseverance to live a good life despite disappointments.

Stay blessed and be a blessing to everyone you meet.
