THE Dawncrest Astro-Turf held its opening season soccer tournament on May 5 and 12.

A total of 24 teams participated in the U9, U11 and U13 divisions.

All first round matches were played on May 5 culminating in very exciting finals on May 12.

The introduction of a plate section ensured that those teams that were knocked out early got a chance to contest the final round as well.

Entertainment and refreshments was provided by Eeze Noodles, Neeshan Sewpersad from the Department of Sports and Recreation provided all the medals and trophies.

The president of Tonver Guru Ramcharan who could not be present due to Tonver commitments on the day, praised the efforts of the organisers for their commitment in developing soccer in the Verulam area.
