TONGAAT residents gathered at the Tongaat Town Hall on last Thursday for the launch of a book titled When The Chalk is Down written by Verulam resident Bhoowan Prakash Singh (53).

The function was hosted by district 1, 2 and 3 libraries under eThekwini Municipality.
The aim of the function was to encourage and promote the culture of reading books under the theme called ‘One City One Book’.

The panelists sharing the podium told the people at the event that the book reflects the struggle movements between 1980s and 1990s.

Speaking at the event, Singh said the book attempts to change the mindset of the public and promote peace among the community.

Dance groups from the Sindy Muruvan School of Dance entertained the audience.
