VERULAM Falcons AC participated in the Victoria Falls Marathon and Half Marathon in Zimbabwe on July 1.

The scenic course took participants through the iconic bridge over the mighty Zambezi joining Zimbabwe and Zambia, the national park and the majestic Victoria Falls which was in full flow.

Many South Africans attended including Checkout Verulam Falcons’ ladies Roganie Moodley and Vitasha Ramnarayan. The duo ran the half marathon and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and scenes.

Back home, another group of Falcons attended the Sama PVAC 10/5km Challenge in Kingspark Athletic Stadium. Legendary walker Eddie Singh was placed third.

Jay Fakir (81) and Ebrahim Asmal (77) also completed the 10 km walk. Mzwanele Shabani and Joseph Mangcwangule ran a terrific pace to complete the 10km run in 35 and 38 minutes respectively.
