THE Checkout Verulam Falcons AC started the 2018 with its development league, fourth leg of the Asmal’s Hypersave.

On Sunday, the league had 56 members participating. Youngsters Bilal Rasool and Sophia Singh showed determination by completing their first Hypersave and 15km. Another junior Zaakir Adam, led the 15km in a time of 1:35.

Chairperson Yunus Doba orchestrated the training runs along the north and south of the R102 as well as to Umdloti Beach over the holidays.
The runs attracted 20 members running from 10km to 25km. The runs assisted long distance runners in preparation for their marathon qualifiers, Two Oceans and Comrades Marathons.

Falcons AC hosted a “Festive Fancy Dress” 5km walk through Verulam on Christmas Eve morning. Falcons AC are holding their annual general meeting on January 20, at 2pm at the Verulam Day Care Centre. - Supplied.
