Falcons prep for qualifier

THE Checkout Verulam Falcons held the 11th leg of the Asmal Hyper Save Series at the weekend as the runners took a tough route.

The runners included a mix of those who were on a post marathon recovery run and those who were gearing up to take on a Comrades Marathon qualifier.

Team Falcons were led by Sibulele Gwatekani and Mongi Tshikitsha both running splendid times within two minutes of each other.

Ebrahim Asmal was the leading walker while Rogani Moodley led the 10km runners and Mogie Padaychee led the walkers.

The full Falcons results were:

In the 15km run: Sibulele Gwatekani 1:17, Mongi Tshikitsha 1:19, Ashwin Bedesi 1:33, Bilaal Moya 1:42, Mike Padaychee 1:45, Dawood Norath 1:45, Sanjeev Rupnarian 1:45, Abdul Haq Essack 1:45, Vitasha Ramnarayan 1:52, KB Chain 1:55, Khalil Cassim 2:12, Cindeera Padavattan 2:25, Judy Reddy 2:25 and Val Naidu 2:25.

In the 15km walk: Ebrahim Asmal 2:25

In the 10km run: Rogani Moodley 1:06, Vigie Naidoo 1:08, Shiela Persadh 1:08, Amres Moodley 1:15, Harshada Fakir 1:25, Maureen Gordon 1:25, Daisy Moodley 1:30, Rakesh Gayadin 1:44, Krish Vadivelu 1:44, Ravi Perumal 1:44 and Krish Vadivelu 1:44.

In the 10km walk: Mogie Padaychee 1:30 and Ahmed Kadwa 1:45.

In the 5km walk: Nikhil Ramnarayan 0:45, Veeran Ramnarayan 0:50 and Fathima Khan 1:00.
