THREE murder suspects appeared in the Durban Regional Court on Wednesday after previous appearances were postponed.

Smangaliso Michael Mayela (21), Nkosinathi Ngcobo (20) and Odwa Zide (21) are accused of murder and robbery with aggravated circumstances at a farmhouse in Esnembe last month.

The body of Virathapusharam Govender (70) was found gagged and hidden behind a bed in the bedroom with a pillow over the body while her husband Steve (72) was able to escape death by pretending to be dead when the attackers returned to check on him. The outcome of the appearance was unknown at the time of going to press.
