FORMER Tongaat resident Nicole Maistry is Mrs India South Africa 2017 after taking the title at Sibaya on Sunday, October 9.

Maistry was competing against eight KZN contestants­ and one from Gauteng.

The first princess was Stephanie Ephraim and second princess was Riasha Balgobind.

“I put in a lot of hard work. I have been visiting old aged homes and children’s organisations in Tongaat to raise awareness on lupus [cancer].

“I will continue with my charity work because I believe it is important to help poor people,” Maistry said.
