THE Vedanta Institute SA is an ashram at 65 Genazzano Road, Seatides, Tongaat and has been active in the community since inception.

With community interaction, the ashram has served the community in and around KZN for the past 25 years.

The ashram will be hosting a youth workshop due to deep reflection and understanding of our own experience as youth, the hurdles we face and challenges that present themself all the time.

“We have engaged the services of qualified professionals in their field, educationists who are dealing with youth daily,” said Sister Logie
Pandaram from the Vedanta Institute.

Topics covered include the purposeful role of today’s youth by Mrs Sarisha Komal, memory and attention by Dr Maanasa Govender, the dynamics of achievers by Swami Lokasangrahananda, time management by Dr Nira Naidoo, career choices by Dr Devan Singh, first aid skills by Mr Naven Govender,
developing communication skills by Ms Sivani Chinappen, the value of food as medicine by Dr Eeswari Reddy, yoga and Pranayama (techniques to steady the mind and develop concentration).

The workshop takes place on 25 and 26 June. It is a two-day workshop for youths between the ages of 13 and 20.

It includes the workshop course, course material with a bag and stationery and meals.

The first day starts with registration at 8.15am for 8.30am and the programme starts at 9am.

The public is invited on 26 June at 1pm for a video presentation on “parenting tips”, followed by a youth concert by Melini Muruvan and students and the Shiva Nataraja Dance School.

Booking is essential for the workshop. To book, contact Logie Pandaram via email or 072 316 4304.
