THE Verulam Child and Family Welfare Society in partnership with Pick n Pay and Verulam Athletics Club hosted a successful fun run at the Verulam Sports ground recently.

CEO of Pick n Pay in Verulam Selva Nayager was the driving force behind the event and has been the anchor sponsor since its inception. All participants each received a goodie bag and a medal

The Verulam Athletics Club provided the marshals and attended to the logistical arrangements of the race. Young Adults Helping Improve People (YAHIP) assisted by controlling the water station and clearing up after the event.

Pupils from various local schools in Verulam participated in the event as part of a well being programme.

Rajen Munien and his team from YAHIP added value to the fun run.

President of Verulam Child and Family Welfare Society Dr Kenny Naidoo expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders who ensured that the event was an overwhelming success.

Naidoo thanked Pick n Pay, the Verulam Athletics Club and YAHIP for forging a partnership with the society and for contributing towards the society’s social responsibility projects.

The society said in a statement all funds raised from the project will benefit the poor and downtrodden in the community.
