IKDSA ends 2017 in glamour

THE International Karate Daigaku South Africa (IKDSA) hosted their year-end awards on Saturday at the Mumbai Dreams Hall in Verulam.

Forty-five karatekas from the Phoenix, Verulam, Tongaat, Seatides and Durban north areas were nominated based on their performance and dedication, to the sport for 2017. They each received awards.

Karatekas who attempted their black belt grading examinations were also awarded with their Shodan 1st Dan grade certificates at the glittering event.

Sensei Denzil Govender, head of IKDSA was pleased with the karatekas as they prepare a team of 20 karatekas who have been chosen to participate in the IKD Style World Cup Championships.

They will be part of 53 countries who will be competing.

IKDSA committee members and affiliates thank the community for continued
