ISNEMBE Secondary held an interfaith prayer meeting to celebrate its 90 years of service excellence and to start the year’s festivities on Monday.

From humble beginnings started by indentured labourers in 1928, the school turns 90 this year. Religious leaders from different denominations conducted blessed the school with the prayer.

The school places on record our sincerest gratitude to Pastor Barry, Punditji Panday, Mr. S.A. Khan,Ms N.E. Hlamaphi and Ms P.S. Bangani who officiated at the ceremony.

January 22 was the day observed this year by Hindus throughout India celebrating Basant Panchami - a festival to bless students for a prosperous and knowledgeable year.

The school has an exciting year planned with many activities to raise funds for the multipurpose centre being built at the school.

A fun walk, fun day and dinner and dance are in the line-up planned to mark this milestone year.

The school made an appeal to former pupils, businesses and sponsors to assist in any way possible to make this year memorable and assist them in continuing to serve pupils and the community with dedication. Anyone who wishes to assist, can contact the school on 032 942 8948. - Supplied.
