WOMEN from across South Africa fought for various titles in multiple categories of the KSA Women’s Cup at the Tongaat Indoor Sports Centre on Friday, October 6. President of KSA Sonny Pillay said the KSA Women’s Cup 2017 was a huge success. Protea head couch Brando Pillay said: “The standard of fighting techniques on display was remarkably high. Moreover, the Women’s Cup augurs well for the forthcoming World Cup in Spain in terms of warming up.” Pillay also serves as the technical convener of KSA. Running concurrently with the Women’s Cup was the KSA Development Championships 2017 with all the colour belts (intermediaries) in action with great fighting spirit shown by the youth. Director of the tournament Leo Cuitto said: “The weekend karate event went off very smoothly and brought out the best in our karate athletes both in the Women’s Cup and Development Championships.”
