HAMBANATHI library hosted a life skills workshop in Tongaat recently to assist low income students and unemployed youth who have completed their matric and need work experience.

Spokesman for Hambanathi Library Siyabonga Mtshali said, “The library in conjunction with JumpStart programme hosted the workshop in order to assist our unemployed youth with necessary work experience programmes.

“The partnership has in the past opened opportunities for these youth under a JumpStart programme initiated by the Mr Price Group where they were employed in areas such as Ballito and Stanger.

“Currently the group who attended the workshop are going through tests and interviews and successful candidates will join the JumpStart programme with Mr Price.

“However, it is beyond this. Programmes that offer lifelong learning skills are important because they prepare the youth for future challenges and opportunities,” he said.
