Out of 600 entrants from around the world, Sukreem from Mithanagar was selected into the top 100 aspiring models.

After a month of voting, she is currently in the top 25 and is looking forward to make it to the top three.

The competition closes on May 25.

Sukreem who is the marketing management student at the University of South Africa, had participated in the final national round of the International Arts Auditions, which was held at the Silverstar Casino in Johannesburg in October last year.

“The process of bringing life to a character gives me phenomenal joy as I commit myself towards seeing the character evolve over time,” Sukreem said.

Sukreem took to the stage to perform her 60 seconds monologue in front of American judges.

Selected participants from across the country eagerly showcased their talents for the opportunity to be chosen by Kim Meyers to attend the July 2018 Arts International Talent Showcase in Orlando Florida in USA.

This will give participants the opportunity to showcase their talents to a phenomenal list of industry professionals including producers, directors, record labels, talent and modelling agencies from across America.

Sukreem said that she could not believe when she received a call confirming that she was chosen to go to the next leg of the competition.

“It was a joyous moment that I will never forget, the one phone call that changed the direction of my life completely, affirming my belief that international is not impossible,” Sukreem said.

Sukreem said that it all began when she was just three-years-old.

Encouraged by her family she pursued drama, modelling and modern Bollywood dancing.

Sukreem said that she took hold of every opportunity that came her way and had participated in a variety of shows and live stage performances.

In 2009, she had won Miss South Asia South Africa and Miss India Globe, a title that she scooped in California in the USA.

Sukreem participated in the International Arts Talent Showcase auditions, which were held at the Durban Playhouse Theatre earlier this year.

She immediately took up the offer and less than a month after the Durban auditions she relocated to Johannesburg and signed up with the agency.

Sukreem said: “It was the best move that I had made for my career.

“I knew that there was no time like the present to put everything on hold and chase after my dreams.”

Sukreem appealed to the residents to vote for her in order to go into the next leg of the competition as she is ranking among the 25 models.

All the participants are looking forward to the next step closer to winning an international modelling contract in New York.
