TONGAAT resident Melanie Pillay was one of the outstanding woman who was honoured for her credentials and community support recently.

Big M Productions under the leadership of Pinky Mothie who is in the movie and entertainment industry for 51 years, honoured 30 women from all walks of life for their credentials and contribution to the community at a glittering function at the Tropical Nite Theatre at The Wild Coast Sun last month.

The recipients included lawyers, doctors, advocates and entrepreneurs. The production titled Big M Fest and Influential Women of the year was a resounding success with entertainment at its best featuring Hollywood, Bollywood and Traditional Zulu.

The highlight of the evening was King of Entertainment Rajiv Mothie who received a standing ovation for his great performances with his Afro fusion Crew.

Pillay believes that she is a professional woman of power and strength who deserves this honour. She was nominated and thereafter screened and interviewed before being honoured.
