THE Maidstone Shell Service Station recently held their site of the year celebration, which was aimed at highlighting their winning tittle as retailer of the year 2018 in the country on April 14.

The reason for the event was to thank their customers, community, suppliers, staff of Shell and business partners for their loyalty and support.

Logie Naidoo was the guest speaker at the function.

The Ferrari Club of SA was also in attendance with Ferrari vehicles on display.

There were lots of giveaways, kiddies entertainment and prizes which were won.

Some of the suppliers present were Discovery, Clicks, Albany, Ola, Sasko, ABI, Ma Baker, Frimax, Simba, Boetsak Biltong, Go Nuts, Singh’s Distributers, Joosabs and SG Convenience to name a few.

Ashika Singh said: “It was a celebration to thank our suppliers, customers, community and our staff for their continuous support, because without them we would have not been able to win the title. Our customers are very important to us,” Singh said.

Singh said that the Shell service station awarded their staff and other business partners at the function.

“We had long service and performance awards for long-standing business partners. Reaction Unit South Africa also received an award from us to acknowledge the partnership that we have with them, which is spanning more than a decade.

“We had VIP’s of Shell [at the function], Shell national sales manager, district managers and territory managers,” she said.

Amar Singh (retailer) and his wife Seema, recently returned to the country from Dubai where he represented Shell SA at the night of the Smiling Stars held in Dubai. Singh was among 10 Shell retailers from South Africa that competed against 60 other countries with a total of 45 000 service stations globally.

Maidstone station won the title for being the number one Shell service station in South Africa at a gala dinner held in Sun City, Johannesburg on February 7.

Singh was first called up to receive the award of being one of the 10 gold retailers who won a trip to Dubai.

The Maidstone service station also won a cheque of R100 000, which was given as a bonus to their front line staff.
