NCF-North Christmas Festival

2018-12-13 06:01

NEW Covenant Fellowship North (NCF North) turned seven on July 17. This fast growing, non-denominational, multiracial church, led by senior pastors Mervyn and Michelle Jean-Louis, now has campuses in Tongaat, Verulam, and Stanger with a membership of around 2 000 members.

The founding pastors fervently believe in the principle of legacy and believe that God has called NCF North to impact the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, which is what drives their commitment and desire to help people. Under the apostolic covering of Dr Basil Tryon, Apostle Mervyn and Pastor Michelle founded NCF North on July 17, 2011.

Tongaat itself was established in 1945 and its name was taken from the name of the river, which passes by the town. The name of the river, derived from Zulu, is said to mean, “it is important to us” or “you are important to us”. In keeping with the meaning of the name, the people of Tongaat have become of significant importance to NCF North, providing the impetus to host a Christmas Festival, unlike any other of this nature and magnitude seen in this region, therefore NCF North will be hosting their first ever Christmas Festival in the heart of Tongaat, at the Outspan Grounds on December 8 and December 9.

Senior pastor Apostle Mervyn Jean-Louis said: “Tongaat is rich in culture, diversity and heritage. The core objective of the Christmas Festival is to celebrate that, as well as express the culture of the Kingdom of God through music, dance and festivities. A festival like this is important, because not everyone has the affordability to go to international shows, so this to them will be their international show. There will be activities for the entire family, so families can come through and just enjoy the day having fun, NCF North wants to give back to the community, to show that they care.”

On stage will be a mix of big names as well as local performers who come from Tongaat or surrounding communities. The Christmas Festival will run on December 8 and December 9 from noon to 10 pm and is open to the whole community.
