OVER 700 women attended the third annual women’s conference held in Tongaat on August 26. The conference was hosted by the New Covenant Fellowship (NCF) North from Tongaat. The founding pastors, Mervyn and Michelle Jean Louis, who fervently believe in the principle of legacy, believe that God has called NCF North to impact the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. The aim of the conference was to honour the women that serve their families in the community, and play such a pivotal role in caring and building good families. The conference was therefore free of charge and open to all women. Pastor Jean-Louis chose speakers she knew would bring encouragement to the ladies, helping them to break the ceilings of limitation to find hope for difficult seasons. When asked what the highlight of the conference was for her, she said: “What was beautiful was that nobody moved. People were just receiving from the happenings of the day. It was clear that the woman were focused on getting their breakthrough. Even after lunch, the ladies lingered spending time with new acquaintances, which made everything worthwhile.”NCF North has three campuses in Tongaat, Verulam and Stanger. Five women from each of the three campuses, all older than 60 years were honoured for the excellent manner in which they serve in the house of God. Each received a bouquet of flowers and Woolworths vouchers. Having a reputation for caring and loving people, this fast growing multi-location church, desired to be a blessing to women from all walks of life. The day was set aside to honour women and this is exactly what was accomplished. Honouring ordinary women who do extraordinary things in their community.
