New plans required for a new SA

2017-08-31 06:01

LISTENING to the various speeches of politicians leading up to the vote of no confidence in Parliament, an interesting word came to the fore: architect.

In the previous regime, we had an “architect” who submitted his plans to the government, which were approved by various “building inspectors” tasked with the business of the day. Not for building structures, but, as we all know, for the separation of various races.

Today, we have an “architect” who is no different. History will record that on August 8, 2017, this “architect” also submitted plans to the government, which were stamped and approved by 198 “building inspectors”. These plans strived to, along the same lines as the apartheid plans, separate huge portions of the population by virtue of wealth. But, as any building inspector will tell one, no plan is ever flawless.

If unscrupulous building inspectors continue to turn a blind eye, cracks will soon appear in the structures. Building inspectors will have no choice other than to recall these plans, demolish these structures, request new plans and have new structures erected. That is, if they have a conscience. And there is no stronger force known to humanity than that of conscience.
