New private school opens in Tongaat

2017-03-02 06:00

A NEW private school has opened its doors, offering North Coast pupils an alternative and affordable ticket to quality private education.

The Haven Academy in Tongaat hit the ground running at the start of the school calendar enrolling 151 pupils from Grade RRR to Grade 12.
Registered with the Department of Education the school boasts a qualified teaching complement, adopting the CAPS curriculum and National Senior Certificate examination.
Much emphasis is placed on individualistic teaching and learning at a spacious educational facility with a limited number of pupils per class and additional supervised homework classes.  Aftercare and extramural activities are also provided including leadership training, field trips, educational tours, sports and mentorship programmes.
The school focuses on academic excellence, integrity and holistic development of the learner. Character development of pupils is further prioritised through the impartation of strong morals and sound values based on Christian principles.
The Haven Academy was launched following the closure of a school in Ballito last year.  This led to subsequent negotiations and a memorandum of understanding signed between the  founder of EduPort Development (Pty) Ltd Richard Lennox (The Haven Academy principal) and the founder of existing Haven of Rest School, Pastor Ronnie Naidoo.

Under new management The Haven Academy is a welcome relief to parents who have been unable to secure admissions at inundated private and public schools or are seeking affordable private education.
For information about admission or for further information, contact The Haven Academy on 032 944 1075 or email
